As the founder of our firm, I take great pride in mentoring younger partners and staff members. My goal is to instill the same passion for helping clients that I have carried with me throughout my 40-year career. From creating financial accumulation plans to leading our investment management team, I work directly with clients to help them achieve financial security for life. I enjoy watching people live out their financial and life priorities because of all the work we do together.
Growing up in small-town South Dakota, my parents emphasized personal responsibility and the need to be a saver. These lessons stuck with me throughout my life, leading me to pursue a career in financial planning. Over the years, I have earned various credentials, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Master Planner Advanced Studies (MPAS®), and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. I also taught CFP® classes to aspiring financial professionals at San Diego State University.
When I'm not in the office, I enjoy giving back to my community by serving on the board of the Valley Center Trails Association and ECOLife Conservation. I also volunteer as a site steward for an archaeological site in the Anza Borrego Desert and the Forest Fire Lookout Association. My hobbies include tai chi, yoga, archery, backpacking, and desert exploration. But most of all, I enjoy sitting outside and listening, knowing that it is my duty and responsibility to leave the world a better place because I have the power to improve life for generations to come through my actions.
In 2018, I published a book called “Rewrite Your Financial Narrative,” which is about setting financial priorities and aligning the economic story you keep telling yourself with your financial reality. With a dedication to continuing financial education, I continue to learn and grow in my profession. But it's the personal connections with my clients and the ability to positively impact their lives that make this career so rewarding.
Registered Representative, CFP®
In my role as a Registered Representative and CFP® at Wollman Wealth Designs, I have the privilege of working closely with Fred Wollman and our clients during client reviews and presenting financial plans. Joining the firm in 2014, I initially worked in a client relationship and back-office capacity. However, after completing my CFP® and passing my securities and insurance exams, I became a partner in 2021. Now, I work more closely with Fred, assisting with investment research, portfolio design, and reviews, as well as financial planning.
What I love most about my job is getting the chance to know the families and individuals we work with. It's incredibly rewarding to meet wonderful individuals and their families and help them work towards their financial goals. As a guide and teacher, my role is to provide information and education, so our clients can make informed decisions about their financial future.
Outside of work, my husband Adam and I enjoy cooking, working out, listening to a wide variety of music, and taking leisurely walks with our beloved dog. I'm a graduate of UC Davis and was born in Escondido, California, before moving to Valley Center during my school years. Growing up in the countryside was a fantastic experience, where I could ride my bike to a friend's house and marvel at the stars from our deck, with the most breathtaking sight being the Milky Way.
Living in Carlsbad, California, has provided a cooler coastal environment and proximity to my workplace. My family has significantly impacted my career, with my husband being my greatest supporter and cheerleader. Working alongside my father, I appreciate the support and guidance from both my parents. Our two amazing dogs, Harper and Dash, often accompany me to the office, adding a touch of joy to my workday. In my leisure time, I cherish moments spent with my husband and fur babies, engaging in activities like hiking, backpacking, trying new foods, reading books, and enjoying games with friends.
Client Services Assistant
Being a part of Wollman Wealth Designs as a Client Services Assistant has been a fulfilling role for me, allowing me to work behind the scenes to create financial plans and ensure client data is well-maintained. With 14 years of industry experience under my belt, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the table.
What I truly love about my job is the opportunity to help people and get to know their families and stories. It's fascinating to hear about their unique journeys and be a part of their financial success. Starting my career in the financial industry as an intern during college ignited my passion for this field, and I've been dedicated ever since.
The social aspect of the business is something I thrive on. Over the years, clients have become more than just clients; they have become friends. Building genuine relationships and truly caring about their well-being is at the heart of what I do. Each interaction brings new stories and insights, allowing me to continually learn and grow.
Growing up in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area and later moving to San Diego, I've had the opportunity to experience different environments and appreciate the beauty each place has to offer. Family plays a significant role in my life, and I am a proud parent to my son, Owen, who is 11 years old. Additionally, I have a lovable companion in my dog, Stevie, who brings joy to our everyday adventures.
Office Manager and Bookkeeper
Having worked alongside Fred, our founder, for over 15 years, I fulfill the vital roles of office manager and bookkeeper. From handling general office duties to answering phones and taking care of accounting tasks, I ensure the smooth functioning of our operations. Managing Fred's personal and business cash flow and overseeing the team's accounting and payroll needs keeps me engaged and fulfilled in my position.
Before joining this firm, I served in a similar capacity for the owner of Hanson Real Estate in Escondido. Drawing upon my experience, I have been able to contribute to the success of this company. I graduated from Texas Woman's University, where I acquired the knowledge and skills that have proven invaluable in my career.
What I truly enjoy most about my job is the contact with others. Building connections and engaging with our clients and team members brings me great joy. Being able to offer assistance and contribute to the smooth running of the office allows me to play a vital role in our organization's success.
Originally from South Bend, Indiana, I spent my early childhood there before moving to Texas, where I resided until the age of 22. Eventually, I settled in Escondido, which has been my home ever since. It's here that I raised my children, and now I enjoy my three grandsons, each at different stages of finishing high school and college.
Outside of work and family, I have various hobbies and interests that bring me relaxation and fulfillment. I love watching movies and TV shows, as well as engaging in activities like crocheting, practicing yoga, and taking peaceful walks around the lake. These pastimes allow me to unwind and find moments of tranquility in my busy life.
