As the founder of our firm, I take great pride in mentoring younger partners and staff members. My goal is to instill the same passion for helping clients that I have carried with me throughout my 40-year career. From creating financial accumulation plans to leading our investment management team, I work directly with clients to help them achieve financial security for life. I enjoy watching people live out their financial and life priorities because of all the work we do together.

Growing up in small-town South Dakota, my parents emphasized personal responsibility and the need to be a saver. These lessons stuck with me throughout my life, leading me to pursue a career in financial planning. Over the years, I have earned various credentials, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Master Planner Advanced Studies (MPAS®), and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. I also taught CFP® classes to aspiring financial professionals at San Diego State University.

When I'm not in the office, I enjoy giving back to my community by serving on the board of the Valley Center Trails Association and ECOLife Conservation. I also volunteer as a site steward for an archaeological site in the Anza Borrego Desert and the Forest Fire Lookout Association. My hobbies include tai chi, yoga, archery, backpacking, and desert exploration. But most of all, I enjoy sitting outside and listening, knowing that it is my duty and responsibility to leave the world a better place because I have the power to improve life for generations to come through my actions.

In 2018, I published a book called “Rewrite Your Financial Narrative,” which is about setting financial priorities and aligning the economic story you keep telling yourself with your financial reality. With a dedication to continuing financial education, I continue to learn and grow in my profession. But it's the personal connections with my clients and the ability to positively impact their lives that make this career so rewarding.
